TNPSC Admit Card 2016 for Assistant Jailor Examination

Public Service Commission, Tamil Nadu (TNPSC) has uploaded the hall tickets for the Main Examination of Assistant Jailor posts. These posts were announced in March 2016 under Advt number 6/2016. The applications were entertained up to the middle of the April month. The written test is going to be held this Sunday on July 24, 2016, in both Afternoon & forenoon shifts.

These 104 posts were only for the graduates. There are very few applications submitted against Tamil Nadu Assistant Jailor recruitment. So the competition may be of the toe level. Officials have suggested disabling the popup blockers in the web browser for the true experience. The main written examination will be held in 32 cities.

TNPSC Tamilnadu

The written test will be conducted as an objective type test with M.C.Q type questions only. The OMR Sheets will be distributed among the aspirants to dark circle the answers. TNPSC Jailor Exam consists of two papers to be held on the very same date: Paper I and Paper II. The duration of the papers is 3 Hours each. The request of changing the exam center won’t be accepted. The aspirants are strongly advised to use the black pen only.

Exam Timing:

  • Paper-I: 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
  • Paper-II: 2:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M.

TNPSC Assistant Jailor Exam Pattern, Syllabus 2016

The Paper I and Paper II are the part of Main Examination. The level of the questions asked in the main examination will be of the degree level except the General English & Tamil portion. The language portion will be of SSLC standard. Later, the interview will be conducted. The subjects, questions, exam scheme, & marks distribution are as per the table shown below:


TNPSC Assistant Jailor Cut Off: The candidates must obtain the minimum qualifying marks (Paper I+Paper II+ Interview) as per the following:

  • SC, SC(A), ST, MBC/DC, BC and BC(M): 204 Marks.
  • Other Categories: 272 Marks.

Paper-I Syllabus: 

  1. Constitution and Human Rights.
  2. Administration of Union and States with special reference to Tamil Nadu.
  3. Socio – Economic issues in India / Tamil Nadu.
  4. Current issues at National Level.
  5. Current issues at State Level.

Paper-II Syllabus: 

  1. General Studies – 75 questions.
  2. Aptitude and Mental Ability Test – 25 questions.
  3. General Tamil / General English (SSLC Level) – 100 questions.
