However, the entry of AAP has made the election gala interesting. Rahul Gandhi, the Congress Vice President, Arvind Kejriwal, AAP supremo and the Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India has held several rallied and road shows.

The opposition is buoyant because the exit polls suggest that the Akali Dal would be routed and will secure third position while either Congress or AAP would form the government.
The cricketer turned politician, Navjot Singh Siddhu made headlines earlier as there were rumours that would join AAP but later Mr. Siddhu joined hands with the Congress that has made a declaration of making Captain Amarinder Singh would be the party’s Chief Ministerial candidate. Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have not revealed their Chief Minister candidates.
In his speeches, Rahul Gandhi fervently criticised the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister for siding with the Akalis. On the other hand, PM says he would not tolerate corruption but is seen sharing the platform with the Badals who have been indulging in the corruption all along and have created the mess of the state.
The Prime Minister also pointed out non-serious approach of AAP and said that border state cannot be left to the whims and fancies of a non-serious party that is looking forward to pursue its own goals at the cost of the state.

Issues Faced by the Punjab State:
Punjab is facing a number of issues at present. Corruption, drug addiction, receding water tables and unemployment are among the major issues plaguing that may pose a serious threat to the state’s agriculture.
